As much as I wanted to see Dan in Real Life, I was prepared for it to be another one of those movies that just didn’t cut it for me.

Instead, I was pleasantly surprised.

There was lighthearted comedy that suited both kids and adults, making for a great family atmosphere. Watching American Gangster the previous night, I was certainly in need for a few laughs.

Even though I kind of detest Dane Cook, I must say that he did a pretty good job in the film. Of course the real star is The Office’s Steve Carrell, who probably put on his best performance on the big screen to date. I must say that both actors exceeded beyond my expectations.

Only thing that could have been better? If Dwight made a brief appearance. That would seal the deal.

Definitely a great movie, and there’s no question in my mind that I’ll buy this when it comes out on video.
