2007 Holiday Design Home a delectable delight
Weighing in at just $9.25 and several thousand calories, this delicious offering from Santa’s Workshop Development and Rudolph Realty is perfect for the discerning holiday buyer. Modular but detailed in concept, The Saint’s 2007 Holiday Design Home was constructed in a remarkable two hours by Elves Kati Stutsman and Dan Treul.
“The entire process was magical,” said Elf Stutsman. “I couldn’t be more pleased with the project’s result.”
Following the horrific collapse of the original model, Elf Stutsman and Elf Treul opted for more architecturally sound and environmentally friendly graham cracker siding. The elves painted the siding in cherry frosting.
“The North Pole Planning Commission told us we had to brick the house with licorice squares,” said Elf Treul. “But they neglected to consider the environmental impact of such an action. Licorice squares take years to decay. Cherry frosting is completely bio-degradable,” he said, licking his frosted fingers.
“I think it’s completely unwarranted,” chuckled Santa Claus. “This is the North Pole. This is my Workshop. We’ve been doing this awhile.” He winked. “I think we know what we’re doing.”
At two stories and featuring a gum-dropped roof, graham-cracker chimney and lollipop-supported entryway, the Holiday Design Home is set on several acres of frosty snow and wood cabinet shelf. Elf Stutsman, who envisioned and completed the roofing and lollipop entryway, was central to the creative process.
“Creative license is what I live for,” she said, adding that the project was nonetheless a challenge. Elf Treul agreed.
“The first set-back cost us,” he said. “The Workshop hasn’t been this challenged since Nixon threatened to end Christmas in ’73. I’m glad the commission decided to do the right thing and let us move ahead. There are more children born every day,” he said. “We need to expand to accommodate that.”
