Marty Allen to keynote 2008 Commencement
Martin J. Allen, Jr., Aquinas trustee emeritus, will deliver the keynote address at this year’s commencement ceremony, the College has announced. Mr. Allen, who chairs the board of trustees of the Gerald R. Ford Foundation, is expected to reflect upon the close friendship he formed with the recently deceased president in his remarks. Mr. Allen will additionally be awarded an honorary doctorate in public service from the College.
The recent announcement marks the second year in a row that Aquinas has invited an in-house commencement speaker. Last year’s keynote was delivered by English Department Chair Gary Eberle. Aquinas College has a long tradition of inviting past and present trustees to deliver the address.
