AQ Club Night a disappointing success
Friday night, a group of about 50 students stood outside The Moose. They shivered, huddled, and wrapped their sweatshirts tighter, but refused to go inside. They were waiting for the bus, the wonderful vehicle that would give them a free ride to the highly anticipated and advertised AQ Club Night, a campus program sponsored [...]
Senate candidates play nice at debate
It’s campaigning season at Aquinas as the campus gears up for this year’s Student Senate elections, scheduled for March 23 and 24, in which student voters will choose the new chair, vice chair and secretary for next year.

Pottymouth: on men’s restrooms
Like many before me, I can’t tell you how many women have told me how “lucky” I am that, as a man, I’m able to “go” wherever I please.
I can’t say that there are not certain advantages to such “male mobility,” and I can’t say that I haven’t at times enjoyed the freedom to pull [...]
Your senate candidates — Facebooked
With the possible exception of the printing press — invented in 1439 by Johann Gutenberg, no one technological development has impacted politics more than the Internet.
Indeed, it was Internet fundraising that precipitated the rise of Howard Dean in 2004, a dedicated core of bloggers that fueled the Ron Paul “revolution” in 2007 and continually updated [...]
White House hit by mortgage foreclosure
White House personnel were relocated to a park across the street following an announcement by Countrywide Financial that the troubled lender was foreclosing on the late 18th century executive mansion.
Speaking from a makeshift cardboard podium in the park, President Bush remained optimistic.
“I would caution the Congress against ‘overcorrecting’ the situation,” he said, next turning his [...]

NAIA Division II men’s basketball is comprised of 151 schools. Of the 32 participating teams that make the national tournament, one will end its season with a win. For the Saints, battling to be that one team left them four points short.
The Saints’ second round would prove to be their last when they took the [...]
UPDATE: Michigan attorney general calls on Kwame Kilpatrick to resign
After a rambling State of the City address that frequently veered off-script, Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is facing increasing pressure to resign amidst a widening investigation that includes allegations of perjury and brokering a secret $8.4 million settlement without the City Council’s knowledge.
Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox is the latest of high profile officials to add his voice to the chorus.

The final round? Gloves come off on Democratic campaign trail
With a strong victory in the Mississippi primary last night for Senator Barack Obama and the delegate count looking increasingly grim for Senator Hillary Clinton, the race for the Democratic nomination is getting nasty. Earlier this week, former Congresswoman and Clinton supporter Geraldine Ferraro sparked a firestorm of controversy for saying that Obama was “lucky” [...]
Iconic Warhol redefines Grand Rapids art scene
An in-your-face commentary on society, the new “Rapid Exposure: Warhol in Series” exhibit at the Grand Rapids Art Museum (GRAM) really “pops.”
Upon entering the gallery, the viewer is exposed to the image of a series of brightly colored cows covering a central panel facing the lobby, announcing boldly the exhibits presence to all who enter.
Andy [...]
