HOCKEYTOWN AFFIRMED
With a narrow, last-second save by Chris Osgood, the Detroit Red Wings defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 3-2 tonight on unfriendly ice to clinch the franchise’s 11th Stanley Cup.
The Wings applauded their rivals as the Penguins saluted their fans and exited their own ice, leaving the boys from Detroit to enjoy their moment with Lord Stanley. In the awards presentation, Wings left wing Hank Zetterberg was named MVP.
