Media War ‘08: McCain 0, Obama 2

I understand that a woman whose net worth stands at untold millions of dollars might not spend much time cooking in the kitchen, but Cindy McCain’s latest PR fiasco is just plain unforgivable. Remember “Recipegate”? The controversy began back in April when it was discovered that one of “Cindy’s Recipes” listed in a McCain-campaign cookbook had been stolen from the Food Network. An unpaid intern was fired, and McCain’s wife awkwardly brushed the criticism aside.

She’s at it again. Today, David Weiner, who also broke the original Recipegate story, uncovered the fact that yet another Cindy McCain “family” recipe appears plagiarized from Hershey’s.com.

As Weiner writes:

Unless John McCain was a childhood friend of Milton S. Hershey or her beer baron family worked with him on a chocolate beer bar back in the day, it seems Cindy is a plagiarist of the most delicious kind. Again.

So much for the Straight Talk Express.
