Chauncey Billups took a starring role on Monday night, but it wasn’t on the Palace floor. Instead, Billups was across town at Joe Louis Arena, firing up a crowd of roughly 20,000 Barack Obama supporters and encouraging citizens to register to vote.

“I’m very proud of the city,” Billups said. “I’m very proud that the city of Detroit came out for the same reason I came out today - to support Barack Obama.”

Despite Billups’ professed love for Detroit, many have suggested that the point guard and team captain may be traded in the near future as part of Joe Dumar’s promised shakeup.
