Is this man an environmentalist?

Probably not. Let’s face it: billionaire developer Donald Trump’s architectural portfolio likely doesn’t sit too well with Mother Nature.

However Trump, who is hoping to develop a “best in the world” golf and resort complex in northern Scotland, said Monday that he had ignored the advice of his own environmental advisers because he was “already an expert,” according to the Wall Street Journal. Trump drew additional laughs with a later statement, in which he asserted that:

“I would consider myself an environmentalist in the true sense of the world.”

Apparently, the chairman of the inquiry committee before which Trump was speaking had to call for order to be restored after the audience lost composure.

Trump elaborated further, stating that the construction of 900 time-share apartments, a 450-bed hotel and 500 luxury homes on the untouched land would actually protect the dunes, as “they wouldn’t blow away in a storm.”
