Interview with Sanders

Adam Hii: When you first joined Senate, did you ever imagine yourself in this leadership position?

Sara Sanders: No.  I first joined Senate as a freshman and I was just excited to be a part of it since I thought it would be an interesting organization.

AH: What are you most excited for as the new Vice-Chair?

SS:  I am looking forward to being behind the scenes and getting the voices of the students heard.  Also I am excited for having more involvement in creating ideas and freshening Senate.

AH:  What do you feel will be your biggest challenge in this new role?

SS:  Time management.  I am juggling class, work, and Senate, yet Senate is a priority and I am confident that I can manage it all.

AH:  Do you plan on pursuing further leadership opportunities at AQ?

SS:  Yes, I am planning to run for Chair next year.

AH:  Why Chair?

SS:  I feel that with my experience on Senate I could do a good job facilitating the organization and bring a new perspective that will promote involvement in Senate.

AH:  What do you hope to gain from this spot?

SS:  More experience on the e-board, improving my public speaking, and improving my facilitating skills.  All of these I hope to use next year on Senate.
